About Nagaland University: Nagaland University is a Central University established in the state of Nagaland by an Act of Parliament by the Government of India in 1989. It is headquartered at Lumami, Zünheboto District, and has two other permanent campuses located at Meriema (near Kohima) and Medziphema. Additionally, there is a temporary campus in Dimapur where B. Tech courses are offered. Altogether, 68 colleges are affiliated with the university, with a total student population of around 24,000. Nagaland University offers courses in 43 disciplines. The university has six schools and 42 departments, including the School of Engineering & Technology, which was established in 2007 and is the first School of Engineering in the state of Nagaland. The School of Engineering Technology (SET) has been shifted to Meriema Campus, Kohima, as per the university authority’s decision. It has state-of-the-art infrastructure, and the academic complex is located at D.C. Court Junction, Dimapur, Nagaland.
Nagaland University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields, including humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, agricultural sciences, disciplines in education, and forestry. The university follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), which allows students to choose courses from a range of electives and core subjects. The courses can be evaluated following the grading system, which is considered to be better than the conventional marks system.
One of the undergraduate courses offered by Nagaland University is a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History. The course is a three-year degree program that follows the CBCS. The course structure includes core courses, elective courses, and skill enhancement courses. The core courses cover topics such as Indian history, world history, and Nagaland history.
