About Central Agricultural University – [CAU], Imphal: Central Agricultural University (CAU), located in Lamphelpat, Imphal, is an agricultural university in the Indian state of Manipur. It was established on January 26, 1993, through the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 of 1992), which was passed by the Parliament of India. The university became functional with the appointment of its first Vice-Chancellor on September 13, 1993.CAU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of agriculture, horticulture, veterinary sciences, and other related disciplines.

The university has 13 different constituent colleges, including the College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, Manipur, the College of Horticulture & Forestry in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, and the College of Post Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences in Umiam, Meghalaya. Central Agricultural University: Admission

Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal offers admission through three entry points:

  1. State Nomination
  • Candidates from the 7 North Eastern states under CAU’s jurisdiction (Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura) can seek state nomination
  • 85% of undergraduate seats are allocated under state nomination as per the reservation policies of the respective states
  • There is no state nomination for postgraduate and doctoral programs
  1. ICAR CUET
  • The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) through the National Testing Agency
  • During counseling, candidates can choose CAU Imphal as their university preference
  • 15% of undergraduate seats are reserved for all-India candidates through ICAR CUET, following their reservation policy
  • 25% of postgraduate and doctoral seats are allocated to all-India candidates through ICAR AIEEA
  1. Self-Financed Seats
  • Self-financed programs are open to candidates from all over India
  • CAU Imphal may conduct an entrance test or base selection on ICAR CUET or 12th-grade scores, as decided by the committee
  • Self-financed programs are available for selected undergraduate and postgraduate disciplines
