The number of seats may change during admission and college allotment, subject to the norms of the NCTE and the directives of the Directorate of Higher Education, Nagaland.
A reservation of 3% of seats in each college will be provided for PWD candidates. This reservation will be adjusted across all four pedagogies during the declaration of results. Reservations for all other categories will be implemented in accordance with the rules and policies of the Government of Nagaland.

B.Ed Colleges in Nagaland: Eligibility
To appear for the CET B.Ed. (Nagaland) 2026, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria:
Nationality
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.Local/Non-Local Status
Candidates should fulfill the local or non-local requirements as per the laws set by the Government of Nagaland.Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have completed a Graduation or Post-Graduation degree (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks. For SC/ST/PWD and other reserved categories, the minimum is 45%. The degree can be in Science, Arts, Humanities, or Commerce.
Candidates with Engineering or Technology degrees with 55% marks (or equivalent) who have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as special subjects are eligible for Mathematics or Science pedagogy.
Final semester students can also apply, but their admission will be confirmed only after they submit their final mark sheet showing the required percentage during counseling.
If a candidate has less than 50% (For SC/ST/PWD-45%) in Graduation or equivalent grade, they can still be eligible if they have 50% or more in Post-Graduation or an equivalent degree recognized by UGC.
Marks rounding is not allowed; candidates must have the exact minimum percentage (45%, 50%, or 55%) or higher.
Pedagogy Choice Based on Graduation Subjects
Mathematics Pedagogy: Candidates with degrees in Mathematics (B.A./B.Sc./B.C.A./B.Tech with Mathematics & Physics).
Science Pedagogy: Candidates with B.Sc. or B.C.A. degrees who studied Botany, Zoology, Allied Life Sciences, Physics, or Chemistry.
Social Science Pedagogy: Candidates with B.A. in subjects like History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, or degrees like B.Com., B.B.M., B.B.A.
English Pedagogy: Candidates with B.A. or M.A. in English or related fields.

c). All candidates have to deposit the required application fee in the given account number either online or offline and the Receipt of the deposit must be uploaded with the application form at the time of its submission. The original copy of the fee deposit receipt needs to be produced at the time of admission. If a deposit receipt is not produced by the candidate at the time of admission allotment of Seats in B.Ed. Note: Only online applications will be considered for the Entrance Test and Admission to the B.ed Programme. The application fee, once deposited, will be non-refundable.
Candidates must select the pedagogy subject matching their graduation subjects while filling the online application. Wrong selection will lead to rejection of the application. These criteria ensure that candidates are academically prepared and eligible to pursue the B.Ed. program in Nagaland for 2025-27.
B.Ed Colleges in Nagaland: Application Process
To apply for the B.Ed. program in Nagaland for the 2026-28 academic session, candidates must visit the official Nagaland University admission portal at Official Website.
First, register on the portal by creating a new user account. After registration, log in to access the “Application Forms 2026” section where you can find the B.Ed. application form. Fill in all required details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee online. Double-check all information before final submission. B.Ed Colleges in Nagaland: Marking Scheme
The CET B.Ed. (Nagaland) 2026 entrance exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, making the total marks 100. The test duration is two hours. The question paper is divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.
- Part A is common for all candidates and contains 60 questions divided into three sections. The first 20 questions assess Teaching Aptitude. The next 20 questions focus on General Awareness and Reasoning. The final 20 questions in Part A evaluate Language Proficiency in English.
- Part B consists of 40 questions related to the pedagogy subject chosen by the candidate. These questions cover graduation-level syllabi in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, or English as per Nagaland University’s curriculum.
Each question carries equal weight, and there is no mention of negative marking in the official scheme. The marks obtained in this exam determine the candidate’s merit and admission eligibility. Good performance may also lead to fee adjustments during the semester.

B.Ed Colleges in Nagaland: Results & Admission
1. Qualifying Marks: There will be no cut-off/qualifying marks for the results. A merit list will be prepared on the basis of the number of seats and entrance test marks. Admission will be given on the basis of merit secured by the candidates and the availability of the seats in the desired Pedagogy on the basis of their qualifications.
2.Ranking:
A pedagogy-wise merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by candidates in the CET B.Ed. (Nagaland)–2026 Entrance Examination. In case two or more candidates obtain the same total marks, the marks scored in Part-B of the question paper will be considered for determining the higher rank.
If there’s a tie, preference will be given to the candidate who submitted the application earlier. Accordingly, merit ranking will be determined on the basis of the application number, with earlier submissions receiving a higher position in the merit list.
The rank obtained in CET B.Ed. (Nagaland)–2026 will be valid only for admission into the B.Ed. programme for the academic session 2026–2028.
College allotment will be carried out according to the candidate’s rank in the merit list for the selected pedagogy. During the counselling process, seats will be allotted based on the candidate’s rank and the availability of seats in the preferred college.
3. Admission through seat and college allotment: On the day of admission through seat allotment in colleges, every candidate has to deposit Rs. 500 as a counseling fee to attend the counseling for admission. The fee for confirming the seats in the B.Ed. colleges will be informed in the result(Merit list) and it will be adjusted in the semester fee by the college.
