The university was created by upgrading Hojai College of Hojai, Hojai district. Rabindranath Tagore University Hojai: Admissions
Admission to the Rabindranath Tagore University Hojai (RTU) is facilitated through the SAMARTH portal based on merit. A merit list will be compiled and published on both the university website and SAMARTH portal. Candidates are advised to regularly check the university website (https://rtuassam.ac.in/) for updates regarding admissions.
The preparation of the merit list will consider reservation policies for various categories. Seats are reserved as per the Government of Assam policy for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and EWS categories, with specific percentages allocated to each.
- Scheduled Caste: 7%
- Scheduled Tribes (Plains): 10%
- Scheduled Tribes (Hills): 5%
- OBC & MOBC: 15%
- EWS: 10%
Additionally, 5% of seats are reserved for exceptional candidates in sports, NCC, cultural activities, and wards of institution employees. Furthermore, 3% of seats are earmarked for differently-abled students.
Rabindranath Tagore University: Eligibility
Candidates applying under the EWS quota must provide a valid certificate from the competent authority. The EWS certificate should be uploaded during the online admission form submission.
